The copper phenotype of cutC mutants is due to disruption of the micL sRNA gene which affects Lpp levels; however cutC may still have a role in copper homeotasis (Gui, 2014). A ModE-regulated promoter was identified downstream of the cutC gene that could generate an anti-cutC RNA of unknown function, tentatively named as morB (Kurata, 2013).
