Tail-anchored Membrane Proteins

Description:

Tail-anchored proteins are inner membrane proteins anchored by C-terminal amino acid sequences (Luirink, 2011).

Details:

12 tail-anchored proteins have been predicted in E. coli K-12. The SecE protein of the translocon was predicted to be a tail-anchored protein based on studies using S. coelicolor (Craney, 2011). 11 additional tail-anchored proteins were predicted (Borgese, 2010).
